Learning to slow down - why watercolour is the perfect reset.
There’s something magical about watching colours blend and flow, creating soft, organic shapes. Unlike other art forms, watercolour embraces the unexpected, teaching us to go with the flow and let go of control. I comment often in my blogs that watercolour teaches me patience, but lately it has been mindfulness. Stopping to watch, to observe and to take actions with thought. I try to bring this into my daily life - to work, to my interactions. I don't always get there but the more I practice, the healthier my mentality is.
Dreaming of Spring Flowers

As spring is approaching I am focusing on the wildflowers I will see in Tumbler Ridge. Apine Sweet-Vetch, Tall Bluebells, Twin Flowers and of course Fireweed. I am working on small paintings - sometimes detailed and other times just fun blends of colour and shape.Whether it’s the rhythmic brushstrokes, the gentle movement of water, or simply getting lost in color, painting is a simple, accessible way to bring more peace into your day.
